Abstract: c is regarded as the century one of the most important and the most novel research in computer field, is considered to be the one of the key new and high technology, with more perception, immersion, interactivity, imaginative and other features, is integrated the technologies of multidisciplinary and integrated technology. Including their paper literature of the traditional library, digital library's digital resources, and virtual reality technology applied in digital library, digital library makes before in the plane of the two-dimensional, restore the original information resource configuration, into a three-dimensional, three-dimensional information resources, and expand the service mode of digital library, service contents and service range, It will bring fundamental changes to digital libraries. It is of great significance to study the application of virtual reality technology in digital library, especially in the current environment of triple network integration and Internet of Things construction, to promote the rapid development of digital library science in China.

1 the introduction

VR is short for Virtual Reality, namely Virtual Reality technology. Virtual Reality is a new computer technology evolved from computer vision, simulation technology, man-machine interaction and other information technologies. By separating the visual from the real world, with the help of a display device, it is possible to immerse oneself in a completely virtual world. Virtual reality technology establishes artificial three-dimensional virtual environment, and users interact and influence with objects in the virtual environment in a natural way, which greatly expands human's ability to understand, simulate and adapt to the world. Virtual reality technology is widely used in simulation training, industrial design, interactive experience and other fields, to solve many major and universal needs.

Digital library is the extension and development of the traditional library in the information age. Digital library, as a distributed, time-free, easy-to-use, super-large information center, has a new way of organization and management, which has become the trend of library construction and development. The rapid development of digital library not only brings broad opportunities to the development of traditional library, but also presents a series of severe challenges. The study of new techniques and methods in library has always been a hot research topic in library science.

As we all know, thousands of years of library development history has proved that new technology is an important factor to promote the development of library. From the perspective of document carrier, from clay book to paper book, microform literature, audio and video literature, digital literature, network literature; From the perspective of library business operation, from manual operation to mechanization, computer, network; From the perspective of library management, from the traditional management mode of people to the new management mode of combining people with computers and network, all of these are not influenced by new technology factors. In the same way, the construction of digital library cannot be separated from the support of related technology, without the favorable support of technology, the construction of digital library will be stagnant. With the promotion of virtual reality technology, the development of digital library will reach a climax.

2. Application status of virtual reality technology in digital library

At home and abroad, the research results of this study mainly focus on technology and digital library. The vast majority of scholars study the two respectively, most of the literature on digital library technology does not involve technology, and few of the research results on the application of virtual reality technology discuss digital library. Therefore, there are few literatures that combine these two aspects.

In 1945, American scholar George W. Bush published the paper "Just as we Thought", which was the earliest literature on digital library. From 1965 to 1973, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology developed the Intrex database and developed computer-aided indexing experiments to search library catalogs and indexes. In 1969, the LIBRARY of Congress officially promulgated the LCMARC machine-readable catalogue, marking the beginning of the automation of the library. In 1972, the International Federation of Graphics launched the international machine-readable directory format, and then, countries all over the world successively launched their own machine-readable directory format, such as UK'S UKMARC, Japan's JMARC, China's CNMARC and so on. In 1975, American scholar Kristin first put forward the concept of electronic library. In 1979, British scholar Harry proposed the term "virtual library". In 1988, The National Science Foundation of the United States of America Woolf first formally put forward the title of digital library.

The research of VR technology started in the 1960s, and its origin can be traced back to more than 50 years ago. In 1962, Morton Heilig, an American, obtained a US patent for his invention of a device called a "full sensor emulator", which was the world's first VR video device. From then on, people began to develop related equipment exhibition. It was not until 1987, when Jaron Lanier from VPL Research company in the United States first proposed the concept and initiated the Research on VR technology, that VR technology began to attract people's attention as a relatively complete system.

The theoretical research on VR and its technology is mainly after the release of the standardized VIRTUAL reality construction language VRML.

From VRML1.0 in May 1995 to VRML2.0 in August 1996 and then to VRML97 in 1997. In January 1998, VRML97 was officially approved by the International Organization for Standardization ISO, marking that VRML97 has become the international standard of THE VR industry, and is still in further development.

3.1 Application of virtual reality technology in the virtual space of digital library

Under the Internet environment, compared with the traditional library, the digital library's distributed and networked features greatly facilitate users, but the digital library lacks visualization and interaction, and is far inferior to the traditional library in terms of interaction and sensing with readers, which affects the service of the digital library to a certain extent. The most obvious difference between digital library and traditional library is that there is no "library house" of traditional library. So some libraries try to introduce the remarkable features of human-computer interaction and generating virtual space into digital libraries. VR technology is used to create virtual space, namely virtual library house, so that digital library users can walk in it and interact with the THREE-DIMENSIONAL virtual environment while roaming the virtual space, thus increasing the sense of intimacy with the digital library.

A fully functional virtual roaming system, digital library users not only can walk through this platform in virtual library collection, to understand the layout and structure of the library, you can also get intuitive, interactive reference service, understand the operation mechanism of the digital library, fully embodies the advantages of digital library beyond the library. 3.2 Application of virtual reality technology in information resource construction of digital library

In the digital information age, image, as the visual basis of human perception of the world, is an important means for human to obtain information, express information and transmit information. The processing and construction of digital image information can meet the needs of human visual psychology and application. The processing and construction of digital image is to use computer to process the image.

On the one hand, the construction of three-dimensional information resources in digital library can not only realize the digitalization of traditional paper literature resources, so that it can be processed by computer and convenient for network transmission, but also can reproduce the original style of original paper literature and three-dimensional physical form of paper literature. Give people with intuitive real, lifelike, immersive feeling, training strong sense of immersion experience of information resources. At present, the information resource services of digital libraries are all provided to users in the form of two-dimensional plane images. On the other hand, the pattern recognition technology in digital image processing can classify the images that cannot be recognized by human eyes. Through the computer pattern recognition technology can quickly and accurately retrieve, match and identify a variety of things. The construction of three-dimensional information resources can not only realize the visualization of information resources, but also solve the interaction problem between human and information resources. Information visualization not only uses images to display multi-dimensional non-spatial data to deepen the user's understanding of the meaning of data, but also uses visual images to guide the retrieval process and accelerate the retrieval speed. Massive data can be visualized into images, which can stimulate people's thinking in images and help find out the hidden rules from the seemingly chaotic massive data, providing basis for scientific discovery, engineering development, medical diagnosis and business decision making.

VR technology has three basic characteristics: immersion, interaction and conception. The core of VR technology is 3D modeling and simulation. The characteristics of VR technology and the construction of 3D information resources in digital library have many common overlaps. VR technology is the mainstream way of 3D modeling at present, so we can conveniently use the technology to build 3d information resources of digital library.

3.3 Application of virtual reality technology in digital library information retrieval and reference

Human perception comes primarily from vision, and visualization makes full use of our innate ability to perceive. Information visualization in digital library is a new field, the main purpose of information visualization is to facilitate user interaction, information visualization display. The visualization of information retrieval enables people to give full play to their subjective initiative, flexibility, creativity and imagination to search for information. Today computers powerful graphics processing capabilities make it possible to have this kind of complex visual display, set computer graphics technology, multimedia technology, network technology and visualization technology, distributed technology, with a lifelike three-dimensional reappearance, natural immersion interactive features, can bring immersive feel to the person, It changed the rigid, boring and passive state between human and computer before. Therefore, VR technology can be used in information retrieval, making it graphical representation, realizing the visualization of information retrieval.

In general, visualization can be divided into two categories: scientific visualization and information visualization. Scientific visualization usually uses computers to reproduce the parts that are not obvious or can not be perceived by humans, so as to enhance human visual perception. For example, computers can be used to magnify X-rays so that humans can observe them. As for the molecular structure inside a substance, it is generally invisible to human eyes, but it can be visualized with the virtual representation of a computer.
