Integrated application of ARTIFICIAL Intelligence in Education and Teaching - Dr. Yuan Zhihui

Artificial Intelligence, abbreviated as AI. It is a new technical science that studies and develops theories, methods, technologies and application systems for simulating, extending and extending human intelligence. Artificial intelligence is the branch of computer science that seeks to understand the nature of intelligence and produce a new kind of intelligent machine that can respond in a manner similar to human intelligence. Research in this field includes robotics, language recognition, image recognition, natural language processing, and expert systems. Since its official birth in 1956, artificial intelligence has had a development history of more than 60 years, as shown in Figure 1. With the increasing maturity of artificial intelligence theory and technology, its application scope is expanding. At present, it has been widely used in the field of education and teaching, providing rich educational resources and scientific educational evaluation methods for school education and teaching. The State Council issued a plan for the development of the New Generation of Artificial Intelligence, which calls for accelerating the innovative use of ARTIFICIAL intelligence, developing smart education, building a new education system that includes smart learning and interactive learning, building smart campuses, and promoting the application of ARTIFICIAL intelligence in teaching, management and resource construction.

Research results of artificial intelligence play a vital role in promoting people's education and teaching content, and play a direct role in all aspects of education, and have a vital direct impact on the improvement of teaching quality. For example, the effective application of artificial intelligence system in the education and teaching process can significantly improve the work efficiency of education and teaching, effectively shorten the amount and time of teachers' work, and significantly improve the intelligence of the educated. At the same time, the effective use of AI system can fully create new teaching mode, for example, can be online learning, community cooperative learning and so on.

The key technologies of AI in education and teaching mainly include the following three:


(1) Intelligent identification technology

Intelligent recognition technology is the most basic technology in the field of artificial intelligence. It consists of two parts, namely, image recognition technology and speech recognition technology. Image recognition technology is the earliest and most widely used technology in the education system of colleges and universities. For example, in the difficult questions encountered in the learning process, students can use the smart phone content into the picture, the question and then uploaded to the learning platform, learning platform of intelligent identification module by image recognition technology to identify the upload picture, after processing is completed through the retrieval results, final feedback to students. The current image recognition technology can not only recognize printed text, but also hand written text has a high degree of recognition, but also can be used for automatic review of students' homework and test papers. Face recognition technology can be used for face authentication, such as the management of check-in, proxy test and other behaviors, effectively improve the efficiency of teaching management. Face recognition technology can also be used to recognize students' micro-movements and micro-expressions in the classroom, and the psychological state and learning status of students in different learning links can be obtained by combining learning analysis technology. In addition to image recognition technology, speech recognition, semantic recognition and other technologies have also been rapidly applied to education and teaching. In the process of human-computer interaction between teachers and students using intelligent teaching platform, speech recognition technology can transform the recognized speech into text in real time, effectively improving the efficiency of human-computer interaction. Intelligent speech recognition technology can also automate the evaluation of some language courses, which not only reduces the workload of teachers' repeated review, but also reduces the deviation caused by some subjective factors, which is beneficial to the formation of scientific teaching evaluation.


(2) Learn analytical techniques

Learning analysis technology is mainly data analysis based on big data. The educational administration teaching platform of colleges and universities will upload the learning behavior data of students to the data center, and the data center will form students' portraits through the tracking and comparison of big data. Teachers will then adjust the teaching plan based on the learning rules and characteristics of students' portraits, formulate teaching strategies in accordance with their aptitude, and implement personalized teaching. Study analysis technology can dynamically evaluate students' grades in advance, the abstract of the learning process through the visual data from the cockpit, teachers by the received feedback information, timely and targeted to adjust the teaching methods and teaching content, students can also be as a reference, real-time change your method of study, reasonable arrangement study time. The learning analysis technology combined with big data can get the learning characteristics of students, and then select the knowledge content with high matching degree through the learning characteristics, and then push the knowledge content with high matching degree to students, so as to improve the adaptability and accuracy of teaching content push. Learning analysis technology is also the core function of artificial intelligence technology applied to network teaching platform.


(3) Virtual reality technology

The application of artificial intelligence technology has brought the rapid development of virtual reality technology. Virtual reality technology can be said to be a revolution in students' learning methods. It enables students to fully mobilize their own senses to participate in learning. It not only brings students an immersive learning experience, but also greatly improves their concentration, understanding, learning interest and learning efficiency. According to the functions of different application scenarios, it can be divided into virtual campus, virtual tour and virtual experiment. Before teaching, teachers should configure the model and scene corresponding to the course from the 3D database, so that a variety of 3D visual effects can be seen in the virtual reality system, and students can empathize with each other to participate in the virtual environment, which is bound to produce the effect that the traditional teaching mode cannot achieve. In addition to using computer equipment, it will also be equipped with some special equipment, such as 3D displays, data gloves, smart helmets, etc. Immersive virtual reality technology can create an ideal virtual reality environment, so that the experiencer has the feeling of personally visiting the environment. There is also a kind of non-immersive experience, which only needs computer equipment to feel the vision and hearing. Non-immersive experience tries to use software to simulate an ideal virtual reality environment. Although the investment in hardware facilities is relatively high in the immersive learning environment, the corresponding simulated teaching situation effects and feelings are more real.

The application scenarios of ARTIFICIAL intelligence in education and teaching are as follows:


(1) Cognitive intelligence technology promotes the automation of teaching assessment

Through the image recognition technology can realize the automation of teaching evaluation, image recognition technology can not only accurately recognize the machine typed written text, but also to some fuzzy handwritten text recognition to achieve a high recognition rate. Measurement system using artificial intelligence technology in the early days of the learning process, respectively from the each link to the student of writing instruction, and comprehensive analysis of the students' specific learning state, then combined with the feedback correction carefully, the measurement system will be set according to the score standard of comprehensive automatic evaluation content of students' writing.


(2) Using face recognition and behavior recognition technology to analyze learning behavior

Learning behavior analysis system can make use of comparative analysis, the behavior analysis of facial recognition technology and video technology such as structured analysis to realize indoor no perception roll call, data collection of classroom teaching, and to track alignment, integrated modeling of data, real-time dynamic tracking teaching effect, improve the working efficiency of the teaching quality and students' management.


(3) Learning analysis technology to promote intelligent teaching


The analysis and processing technology of big data is becoming more and more mature, and the data center of university is becoming more and more refined in the analysis of the captured data. In the teaching process, teachers are more likely to use the fusion media display system to dynamically grasp the specific performance of each student and each study group in real time.

In a word, without education informatization, there is no modernization of education, "artificial intelligence and education" has caused the education disruptive change, the depth of the artificial intelligence and education integration or will become a major thrust of the reform of education, through the integration innovation and optimize the supply of education services to deepen the teaching mode reform will be the future in the artificial intelligence application in the education teaching. It is believed that in the future development process, China's education and teaching field will achieve innovative development.
